Kemigisha and Arinda crowned Mr and Miss Nkumba

Kemigisha Christine, a second year Interior and Landscape Design student beat 4 other contestants to claim the 2022/23 Miss Nkumba University beauty pageant yesterday at the university grounds.

Students thronged the event braving bad weather to cheer their favorite contenders.

The beautiful and artistic Kemigisha showed incredible prowess in fashion styles with her glamorous looks that set the crowd ablaze.

Narinda Lowenah, a first year Journalism and public relations Student came in closest to crown as the crowds favorite amidst ululations but only emerged 2nd runner-up. she was also crowned Miss Photogenic and Miss popularity.

The same event saw Marvin Alinda, second year Graphic Communication Design student crowned Mr Nkumba. The beach Boys’ left-back is set to amplify the Mr. Nkumba office to benefit both students and the University.

Marvin, also known as Camavinga left students in utter shock as he show cased his creative wear made of condoms and polythene bags in his bid to sensitize students about HIV/AIDS.

The event was graced by different beauty queens who included the newly crowned Miss University Africa Uganda, Queen Elizabeth Atwesigye, Miss ISBAT University, Miss Busitema University, and Miss St. Lawre University and also the former Miss Tourism Rwenzori region who also doubled as a judge for the event.

Other dignitaries included Nkumba university Alumni president and the Dean of Students, among others.

The judges of this beauty pageant were led by Mc Casmir a re-known city mcee and TV personality.

The pageantry is organized every year, however, COVID-19 forced a hault on the event for close to two year.
