On a sunny afternoon at Crown city Kavule, St. Lawrence University hosted Makerere University Business School .
The 2019 finalists came from a goal down to defeat two time Champions Makerere University Business School in their semi final first leg of the pepsi UFL.
The first stanza of the game did not have much action. Both teams failed to create goal scoring chances despite MUBS having more time on the ball .
But throughout the first half, it was evident that MUBS had imposed a tactical strategy to stop SLAU hitman Bruno Bunyaga.
In the second stanza the two sides seemed to have revised their tactics,MUBS starting the second stanza on a high.
Their efforts soon paid off when Nazar Benjamin found the net in the 57th minute giving MUBS an early lead in the second half.
SLAU instantly reacted to the goal, winning dwells and dominating the play before scoring 10 minutes later through hitman, Bruno Bunyaga.
Having levelled matters SLAU continued with their dominance as MUBS struggled for a grip.
Attempts from goal poacher Bruno Bunyaga were tipped wide by phenomenal SLAU goal keeper but Kayongo Micheal found penetration netting the winner for SLAU.
The 2-1 win gives SLAU an advantage going into the second leg on 1st November in Nakawa.
The pepsi UFL will resume on thursday as holders Uganda Christian University make a trip to Nkozi to face off with Uganda martyrs University.
In the first game , UCU registered a narrow 1-0 win over Uganda martyrs.
