Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi became the first team to storm the finals of the Pepsi University football league after stunning defending champions Uganda Christian University in Nkozi
Sunny Kajja’s lone 67th minute goal was enough to level matters on aggregate after UCU won the first game 1-0 in Mukono.
The 1-1 stalement forced the game into shootouts in which Uganda Martyrs proved to be the better side winning 5-4. to storm its second finals.
Uganda martyrs makes a return to the final since 2017 where they stunned MUBS to clinch maiden title.
Uganda Martyrs will be waiting for whoever qualifies between MUBS and SLAU to face off in an epic final scheduled 12th November 2022.
In the first leg St Lawrence edged MUBS 2-1 in Kavule. The two teams will meet again on November 1st in Nakawa where the aggregate winner will join Nkozi in the finals.
